A Guide to Search Results for "Pasadena"
The search term "pasadena" is an ambiguous geographical reference to one of four places in the United States: Pasadena, California; South Pasadena, California; Pasadena, Maryland; and/or Pasadena, Texas. It is also the name of a city in Newfoundland, Canada and a submarine in the United States Navy, the SSN 752 Pasadena, the third naval vessel to bear that name and the first submarine to do so. The name Pasadena is derived from an Ojibwa (or Chippewa) word meaning "valley," "valley town," "key of the valley," or "crown of the valley," depending on which expert you ask. The name was chosen by the San Gabriel Orange Grove Growers Association in California so that they would be able to establish a postal service for area residents, whereas the Texas town of Pasadena was named after the California city.
